What's it all about?
Come along for a day of sight-fishing for big, wary carp in the Susquehanna's crystal clear water. This is the closest you'll get to bonefishing
without being in saltwater. These are big fish that
average 10-lb. to 20-lb. and are guaranteed to challenge even the most experienced angler. You will be fishing
from the casting deck of a customized jon boat. As I
pole the shallow river flats, one angler fishes while the other helps spot mudding and tailing carp.
Equipment We use 8-weight rods with floating lines. Reels should have good drags and 100-yards of backing. I will have the required equipment on board if you do not bring your own. If you have a rod you are accustomed to, it is suggested you bring it along.
I will have the flies the carp like to eat.
Sharing the water together
We will rendezvous between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and conclude our fishing day between 4:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. A low fat lunch including snacks and water will be included. Season During the typical year the carp fishing season runs June through mid-October when water conditions are best suited to sight-fishing. |
